Emanoel Sefoyianes, 77, of Westminster died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at Transitions Healthcare in Sykesville. Born Sept. 28, 1932 in Sitia Crete, Greece, he was the son of the late Pauline Gouzious and Stylianos Sefoyianes. Survived by his wife of 49 years Alma "June" Sefoyianes. Before retiring he owned restaurants in Washington, D.C., Waldorf and Takoma Park. He was a member of St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Sitia Crete, former member of St. Theodore in Clinton, Md. and St. Constantine and Helen in Washington D.C., member of AHEPA in Washington, D.C. He attended Gaither United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and boat captain. He holds the world deep sea fishing record for a rare Bodianus Pulchellus on display at the United States National Museum of Natural History. Besides his wife he is survived by daughters and son-in-laws Glenna and Joseph Hadley of Dover, Pa. and Pauline M. and Kyle Zollers of Westminster, 4 granddaughters Laura Gscheidle, Patience Breckenridge, Elizabeth Enriquez and Annie Zollers. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at 7 P.M. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster with Rev. Chuck Shacochis officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
