Douglas Patrick Funk, 53, of Patapsco died Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at The John Hopkins Hospital. Born July 23, 1956 in Waynesboro, Pa. he was the son of Dorothy Reachard Funk Kuhn of Quincy, Pa. and the late Robert Eugene Funk. He was the husband of Nettie Barrick Funk.
He was an inspector for Ridge Engineering in Hampstead. He enjoyed diving, country dancing, attending auctions and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife and mother he is survived by sons Chad E. Funk and fiancé Mandy Meckley of York, Pa., Weston D. and Wilson B. Funk, daughter Rheda R. Funk, all of Patapsco, brothers J. Gregory Funk, P. Jeffrey Funk, Thomas A. Funk, sister Susan M. Bartles, step-sister Sharon Finafrock, step-brother Brian Kuhn and grandson Hunter B. Funk, father and mother-in-law Billy and Shirley Barrick of Patapsco. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by step-father Harry Kuhn and brother R.Eric Funk.
The family will receive friends at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster on Thursday from 6 to 8 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Interment in Patapsco Cemetery.
