June Rose Owens, 69, of Westminster died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born June 25, 1940 in Baltimore City she was the daughter of the late James G. and Hilda Naditch Fisher.
She moved to Carroll County in 1967 and became and Avon Lady in 1972 and was still active at the time of her death. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Ladies of the Moose Aux No. 897. She was proud to be a graduate of Eastern High School Class of 1958. She retired from J. Schoeneman, Inc. after 34 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and loved to go camping and to the beach.
Survived by her companion of 37 years Calvin L. Rickell, sons and daughters-in-law Mark W. and Linda Owens of Westminster, Allen W. and Leza Rae Owens of Manchester, step-sons John and Mark Rickell, grandchildren Ashley, Paola, Joel, Sarah, Faith and Mark Owens, Megan and Ryan Rickell, cousin Ronald Naditch, niece and husband Donna and Edward Gillespie, and her cat Tigger. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Edward Cosgrove and niece Mary.
The family will receive friends at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Kevin Clementson of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
