Mildred Higgs, 77, of Upperco, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her residence. Born March 6, 1932 in Baltimore she was the daughter of the late William D. and Lola Abbott Cartzendafner. She was the wife of the late Karl R. Higgs, Sr.
She was as a homemaker. She was a member of Boring Methodist Church.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law K. Richard, Jr. and Trish Higgs of Frederick, daughters and son-in-laws Debora and Lee Ziemski of Finksburg, Gayle and Kevin Muse of Manchester, Rebecca A. Higgs of Upperco, and Barbara and William Osborn of Bethany Beach, Del. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brother Charles Cartzendafner and sisters Reba Shank and Audrey Stitely, and granddaughter Jamie McCahan.
The family will receive friends at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster on Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M. and Monday from 10 until time of service at 11 A.M. with Rev. Richard Shamer officiating. Inurnment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery.
