Norman Edward Myers, 84, of New Oxford, Pa., formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. Born September 16, 1925 in Westminster he was the son of the late Anna Coppersmith Myers and Clarence Andrew Myers. Survived by his wife of 61 years Ruth Beryl Myers. Before retiring he was owner and operator of Myers TV Service. He was a 1943 graduate of Westminster High School and the Maryland Technical Institute. He was a former member of VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467. and served in the Navy during World War II. He was also a Civil War history buff and rock collector. Besides his wife he is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lee Ann and Ed Parry of Littlestown, Pa., grandchildren Joshua E. Parry and wife Jessica of Hanover, Pa., Kristopher C. Hickok and wife Angie of Gettysburg, Pa., Erika E. Parry of Salisbury and brother Carroll D. Myers of Westminster. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Curtis Daniel Myers who died August 18, 1982, sisters Viola Warner and Marie Wilson and brothers Vernon C. and Paul R. Myers. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, P.A., 254 E. Main St., Westminster from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Scott Morgan of Littlestown Chapel officiating. Interment in Meadow Branch Cemetery with military honors.
