Emma Grace McQuay, 89, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Finksburg, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2010 at Hanover Hall Nursing Home. Born Jan. 3, 1921 in Blacks Corner, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Emma Esther Myers and Walter H. Bowers. Survived by her husband Lloyd R. "Mac" McQuay. Before retiring she worked in the Tool Dept. for Black & Decker. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughter Patricia K. Keeney of Newport News, Va., sons and daughter-in-laws Ray B. and Sue McQuay of New Freedom, Pa., Timothy L. and Debra McQuay of New Windsor, brother John R. Bowers of Orlando, Fla., sister Phylis Kessler of York, Pa. Also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters Catherine Noel, Edith Stonesifer, Naomi Sirkis, Dorothy Stephan and grandson Jeremy McQuay. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster from 2 to 4 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Louis Piel, of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be made at www.fletcherfuneralhome.net.
