Elsie Elizabeth Snyder, 92, of Westminster, formerly of Reese, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown. Born Feb. 27, 1917 near Winfield, she was the daughter of the late John Edward "Ed" and Margaret E. "Maggie" Haines. She was the wife of 50 years to the late Jacob E. Snyder who died in 1984.
Before retiring she worked as a shoe cutter in factories in Westminster and Littlestown, Pa. for over 40 years and also worked at Rowan Controllers. She was an active member of Clearfield Bible Church.
Survived by daughters and son-in-laws Mary and Jack Parke of Sykesville, Constance and Kaye Kolb of Linwood, Patricia and Iraj Haghighat of Westminster, three grandsons and wives Kaye Kolb Jr. and wife Susan, Kurtis Kolb and wife Kristen, Todd Buchman and wife Lori of Kent Island, four great-grandchildren Jessica, Jillian, Jordan, and Jenna Kolb.
She was predeceased by brothers Morris E. Haines, Claude E. Haines, Russell Haines and twin Francis Haines and sister Mary Etta Haines.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster where a funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. with Pastor Ray Newman of Clearfield Bible Church officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
