Catherine Elizabeth Hoy, 92, of Westminster, died Saturday morning, Feb. 6, 2010 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born March 14, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Kathryn Mahoney Scully and Thomas J. Scully. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Robert C. Hoy, Sr. who died in 2007.
Before retiring she was a homemaker and had worked at the Carroll County Election Board. She was a parishioner at St. John Catholic Church for 60 years. She enjoyed trips to Ocean City , Md and New Jersey Beaches . She liked word puzzles and Orioles baseball. She also loved her weekly trips to Hanover, PA with her husband.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law Robert C. Jr. and Mary L. Hoy of Westminster, cousin Julia A. Lockard of Uniontown and godson John J. McCuen Jr. and wife Carol of Sykesville. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by daughter Barbara Ann Hoy and brothers Thomas, Timothy, John and Charles Scully and a sister Mary Scully McCuen.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. and Saturday from 10 to 11:15 A.M. at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 Noon at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Msgr. Arthur Valenzano officiating. Interment in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
