Donald James Staub, 89, of Westminster, died Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Westminster. Born February 2, 1921 in Uniontown he was the son of the late Effie Mae Smith and Charles F. Staub. He was the husband of the late Doris Sell Staub who died July 5, 1987.

He was retired from 3M Graphics with 24 years of service as a Tractor Trailer Driver. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, as well as the Asian Pacific Theatre. He enlisted in July of 1940 and was Honorably Discharged in October of 1945 with the rank of First Sergeant. He was decorated with the Asian Pacific Combat ribbon with three Bronze stars and was stationed at Wickam Air force Base in Hawaii when attacked by the Japanese in 1941. He was a member of the Meadow Branch Church of the Brethren for many years, where he served on the Stewards Commission and the Church Board. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 467 in Westminster.

Surviving is a son James E. Staub of Westminster, twin grandsons Michael and James Lee Staub both of Westminster, and granddaughter Amy Marie Staub of Dover, DE.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 6-7 P.M at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m at the funeral home.Inurnment will be held at a later date in Pipe Creek Cemetery, Union Bridge, Maryland.
