William Robert "Bill" Jacobs, 71, of Westminster, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born Oct. 15, 1938 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Gertrude Compton and Carl Henry Jacobs. He was the husband of Mary Stromberg Jacobs.
Before retiring he worked as a maintenance mechanic for BWI. He also served in the Army Reserve for 8 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by son James Jacobs of New Windsor, daughters and son-in-laws Kathleen and Scott Clagg of Rochester, PA, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Cook of New Windsor, brother Roland Jacobs of Fort Ashby, WV, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sister Jeanette Lathe, brother-in-law John Lathe and brother Carl Jacobs.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
