Anne Elizabeth "Betty" Kyker Haines, 81, of Westminster died Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born October 31, 1927 in New Windsor she was the daughter of the late Mary Ann Brown Haines and Jesse Haines. She was married to the late Dana Kyker Jr. who died Feb. 9, 1987.
She owned and operated the Reese Inn in the late 60's and early 70's. She also worked for her daughter in her hair salon until her retirement. She enjoyed flowers, ceramics, music, dancing, bingo, the beach, cooking, family pets Pepe and Lex, trips to Atlantic City, and her extended family. She was a breast cancer survivor for 6 years.
Survived by sons and daughter-in-law Dana Kyker II of Westminster, Ronald L. and Anne Kyker of Westminster, daughters and son-in-laws Cheryl and Bill Smith of Silver Run, Tami and Mark Zentz of Westminster, brothers Charles Haines of McSherrystown, Frances Fowler of Littlestown and Dean Haines of Ohio. Also survived by 11 grandchildren Dana Kyker III, Kelly Lynn Mack, Kyle Kyker, Brooks Kyker, R.L. Kyker, Krista Kyker, Dana Patterson, Patrick Patterson, Kimberly Windsor, Zack Ward, Josh Ward and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her body was donated to science. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
