Doris E. McClelland, 70, of Westminster died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born September 6, 1939 in Snydersburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lottie Brehm Barnhart. Survived by her husband of 50 years William J. McClelland.
Before retiring she worked for the University of Maryland Extension Service in the Carroll County Office. She graduated from Manchester High School and was a member of Bixler's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, camping, traveling, and flea markets.
Besides her husband she is survived by daughters and son-in-law Vicky and Jeff Newman of Hawaii and Terri Lynne McClelland of Westminster, son and daughter-in-law Brad and Pat McClelland of Westminster, one brother Ken Barnhart of Westminster, grandchildren Carrie Myers and husband Darrin of Gettysburg, Pa., Tim McClelland and Shelby Conover, both of Westminster, great-grandchildren Adam and Brooke Myers of Gettysburg, Pa.,
The family will receive friends at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 A.M. with Rev. Dale Krotee, Pastor of St. Matthews United Church of Christ in Pleasant Valley officiating. Interment in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
