Still it feels unreal that Doug has gone to be with the angels. We so enjoyed his friendliness, his thoughtfulness and his sense of humor. Doug was a really unique family man. He will be very much missed. We will think of Doug whenever we see Nettie, Weston, Wilson and Rheda.

Dear Nettie, Wilson, Weston, Rheda,Dot and the Funk family,
I am heartbroken to hear about Doug. I remember the first time I met you, Nettie. It was at the Hanover Elks for your line dancing lessons. Doug couldn't wait to introduce you to me. He was a brother to me and he kept in touch with me when he could. I loved his dry humor. Doug I will miss you and I love you.
Nettie, may God give you and the Funk family comfort in knowing Doug and strength to go on. He is an angel in heaven now, watching over you and the children. May God bless you and keep you in His arms and comfort you in this time of sorrow. My prayers are with you always.

I was deeply saddened by your passing. You were a part of my life for 15 years. Thanks for all the good times. You gave me the most precious gift of all, Chad and because of him we have little Hunter. Thank you. I am sorry that you won't be around for the kids to really know you and especially Hunter but I know that you will be watching out for them from above and watching them grow. Rest in Peace.
